In 1966, Gordon Fee was the first scholar from a Pentecostal background to earn a doctorate in biblical studies. He championed the way of scholarship within the Pentecostal, charismatic, and new-charismatic churches.
Not only did I learn about the work of the Holy Spirit from his writings, but also, his insights about women in leadership were key in my own journey of understanding that women can be, and should be, leaders within the church.
Yesterday, Gordon Fee passed away at the ripe old age of 88. I’m grateful for this man. Rest In Peace.
Interesting! I am interested in his thoughts on women in ministry? Did he write any literature?
Fee has written many books. One book that has one simple chapter is his Listening to the Spirit in the Text. Also his commentary on 1 Corinthians addresses the issues that arise in that letter from chs.11 and 14.
