Apology from Goodell and NFL

Roger Goodell

“We, the NFL, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest.” –Roger Goodell, NLF Commissioner

It is so very important to admit when we are wrong, when we miss it, when we don’t listen, when we hurt others. It’s not all that needs to be done, but it is a piece of the puzzle that cannot be missing.

I honestly don’t know if this is a publicity stunt of sorts, or an honest apology. I hope it’s the latter. But it is very easy to do things in time’s like these in order to save face. Especially when you have a multi-billion dollar company to run.

Yes, this is a bit (or very) late, but, if this is a honest apology, Goodell has taken a positive step forward. It’s only a step, but a step it is. I hope leads to greater things to come.
