We’ve all heard of the blame game. I actually wrote a poem about it a few months back.
But in response to my video podcast yesterday, I had some feedback in regards to my current leaning to not vote in this election. I would identify the particular reaction as the shame game.
I think the best response to the shame game is another poem.
Shaming is typically the ploys of
those in the majority,
those with privilege.
I’ve done it;
You’ve most likely done it.
Shaming is also the ploy
of the great adversary
the satan.
Shaming does not bring about
love, joy, peace,
patience, kindess, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control.
Shaming does not bring about
faith, hope and love
Shaming does not bring about
the good and right rule of God.
