Eric Metaxas on Wilberforce & Bonhoeffer

I have friends here in Brussels that head up the annual European Prayer Breakfast. This gathering is held in early December and is full of varying Christian European diplomats and European pastor-leaders. They mainly come together to hear a stirring talk from a distinguished diplomat and pray for the European Union.

A very similar gathering takes place in Washington DC each year, happening in early February. Of course, this one mainly draws upon American officials and pastor-leaders.

This week I was made aware of the video recording available on C-SPAN’s website. For this year’s 60th anniversary, the guest speaker was Eric Metaxas. He is specifically known for his two biography works on William Wilberforce and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Metaxas begins his talk at the 34-minute mark and ends at the 1-hour and 5-minute mark. It was an absolutely amazing speech, filled with humour and stirring thoughts about the topic of true faith. Also, if interested, Obama follows him up with a short speech as well.

Unfortunately, WordPress is not letting be embed the video into this space. So visit this link at C-SPAN’s website to view the video.
